April 2008 Panasonic Launch AG-HMC151 AVC Camcorder
Panasonic have launched an
exiting new camcorder to their range, the AG-HMC151 AVC. The new
camcorder utilises solid state recording to high capacity SD cards. It
has 3 1/3 inch CCDs to produce stunning HD images in 1920x1080
resolution.
The beauty of the camcorder
is that it can record at multiple bitrates, therefore allowing huge
amounts of video storage to one SD card. With the AVC format becoming
adopted by more and more NLE software providers, the camera could well
prove to be very competitive at such a low price point.
The camera is equipped with
a wide-angle Leica lens incorporating a 13x zoom. It also sports 24 and
30 frame progressive capture. The AVC format is based on a long GOP
standard based on MPEG-4
